Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, prof. Dr Zorana Mihajlović marked the year of the Government of Serbia by opening the first multimedia exhibition of infrastructure.

The event was attended by the ambassador of China H.E. Li Manchang, ambassador of Italy H.E. Carlo Lo Cascio, ambassador of Turkey H.E. Tanju Bilgiç, ambassador of Azerbaijan H.E. Eldar Hasanov, ambassador of Montenegro H.E. Branislav Mićunović, ambassador of United Arab Emirates H.E. Dr Mubarak Saeed Ahmed Al Dhaheri, as well as many other respected guests from the public life of Serbia.

“The new trains, excavators, trucks are important. However, the most important is the people. That is why we wanted to present what we are doing in this exhibition and also to present the people who build Serbia.” said the Deputy Prime Minister opening the exhibition.

She stated that the exhibition of infrastructure marks one year of the Government, but that there are many more reasons because a lot of work has been done regarding the country’s infrastructure. “I believe that the building of the Main Railway Station is the right place for such an exhibition because it combines the best from our past and the way we see our future today,” said Mihajlović. She reminded that the building of the old Main Railway Station, which will be turned into a museum, was built in the same year as the Belgrade-Niš railroad, 1884, which enabled Serbia to join modern European countries that already had a railroad.

“We are here today because this station is a symbol of our strength to respond to the challenges of time, and these challenges are not so different from those we have today. Even today, for Serbia, the most important thing is to connect with the region, Europe and the world, because only through connecting with other countries can we develop and progress. It is equally important that Serbia is modernised, that our people have fast and safe roads and railroads, as well as hospitals, schools, museums, like other countries in Europe. It is also important that when we build for the future, thinking of those who come after us. To educate and give a chance to our experts, especially young people, as Serbia gave Dragutin Dragiša Milutinović the opportunity to project this building.” said Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlović.
