Aster Textile, the leading Turkish textile producer, has invested 9,000,000 euros in the construction of a factory in Niš, covering the area of 19,250 m² and equipped with the latest machines.

It currently employs 300 people, while in the next two years 2,000 young people will be recruited, regardless of their education and professional qualifications.

Aster Textile was established in Turkey in 1993 as a company specialised in fashion design and production, with business development centres located in Istanbul, London and Barcelona and production facilities in Turkey, Bangladesh and now in Serbia. With the annual turnover of 100 million euros and the production capacity of more than 2.5 million units, it represents one of the leading companies in the textile sector.

“We have invested 7,500,000 euros in the construction of the factory and the latest machines. By end-2018, the total investment in production will reach 9,000,000 euros. In six months only, an environment focused on working conditions and environmental standards has been established. I am proud of the fact that we will employ 2,000 young people in Niš, who will contribute to the turnover growth to 150,000,000 euros. In Serbia, we aim to be a symbol of trust, stability and entrepreneurship, with a plan to reach exports worth 55,000,000 euros in three years,” said Ismail Kocali, CEO of Aster Textile.

“Young people between 18 and 26 will have an opportunity to learn from our Turkish friends and earn a salary for their families. Aster Textile has come to our country and it will employ more and more people. Only six months ago, this was a devastating area, while today we have an impressive factory which can serve as an example to us all how to develop a family business like Aster and look up to them,” said Aleksandar Vučić, Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia.

The company has the ISO9001 quality management certificate, enabling it to fully respond to the expectations and needs of its clients and customers. Raw materials are controlled by an accredited laboratory and Aster Textile is one of few textile producers which has also obtained the ISO27001 information safety certificate, providing a high level of intellectual property protection for clients and employees…
