Belgrade City Hall hosted the ceremony to award the Golden, Silver and Bronze Serbian Gazelle Awards for 2017 to the most successful and fastest-growing companies in the country. The three best companies were selected from among 500 top companies (according to the Bisnode methodology), which doubled their sales and provided as many as 23,539 new jobs in the observed five-year period (2011-2015).
The winners of Gazelle Serbia 2017 awards for operational excellence are Vega IT Sourcing Ltd. Novi Sad (Serbian Golden Gazelle 2017), Termovent Komerc Ltd. Belgrade (Serbian Silver Gazelle 2017) and Jugotex Ltd. Smederevo (Serbian Bronze Gazelle 2017). Alongside these three companies, shortlisted companies also included Milanović Engineering Ltd. Cerovac and Jugo-Impex EER Ltd. Niš, which received notes of thanks for their participation in the project.
The “Golden Gazelle” was formally awarded by Marko Čadež, President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce & Industry, who stressed the importance of local “gazelle” companies operating successfully – as one of the main drivers of the country’s economic development:
“Serbian gazelles can count on the support of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Serbia, which is becoming their hub for further growth and development. We are developing state-of-the-art tools to support fast-growing companies and promote dialogue with the state and local governments, in an effort to eliminate the obstacles faced by the economy in doing business, and for current gazelles to be even more dynamic and for new gazelles to emerge,” said Čadež.
Golden Gazelle winner Vega IT Sourcing was founded in 2008 and deals with the creation of software solutions – from developing prototypes and architectural solutions, via testing, to migration and maintenance assistance. During the 2011-2015 period this company recorded indexed growth of 5.35, and in 2016 it generated revenue amounting to 519 million RSD, while the share of exports in its revenue totalled 100%. It sells its products and services on the markets of the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland.
