The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall arrived in Belgrade for a two-day visit to the country.
After being greeted at the airport by Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić and Parliament Speaker Maja Gojković, the Prince and Duchess were received by President Tomislav Nikolić, who later laid wreaths with Prince Charles at the monuments of the Belgrade defenders of World War I and the Commonwealth Military Cemetery in Belgrade.
The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, together with historian Dubravka Stojanović, then visited Kalemegdan Fortress and Park.
Afterwards, the British royal couple and H.E. UK Ambassador Denis Keefe met with the representatives of Christian churches and Islamic and Jewish communities in Serbia. Prince Charles also had a separate meeting with Serbian Orthodox Patriarch Irinej, while the Duchess visited the Centre for infants, children and youth care in Belgrade.
The couple’s activities were concluded with a visit to meet Prince Alexander Karađorđević and Princess Catharine and a reception at the Serbian National Assembly.
