While speaking at a high school in North Iceland President Gudni Thorlacius Johannesson was asked how he felt about pineapples as a pizza topping and replied by saying if he could pass laws he would ban the topping throughout the country.
The pizza topic was the question that gained the most attention and prompted the president to release a statement.
“Presidents should not have unlimited power. I would not want to hold this position if I could pass laws forbidding that which I don’t like. I would not want to live in such a country,” he said. “For pizzas, I recommend seafood,” said President Johannesson.
