On the occasion of the of the Russia Day, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Serbia H.E. Aleksandar Chepurin hosted a reception, welcoming Governmental officials, MPs, ambassadors of foreign countries in Belgrade, representatives of the international organisations and public figures.
Addressing the event, the Russian ambassador to Serbia H.E Aleksandar Chepurin, said: “I am thankful to my colleagues, the ambassadors, for joining us at today’s reception. I would like to emphasise the participation of ambassadors of the Western countries – we have a record number in recent years. All this brings optimism.”
“We need a stable and safe world of mutual understanding and cooperation”.
Ambassador Chepurin said “Russia and Serbia share 1,000 years of mutual respect and understanding. Today Russia and Serbia are very active in developing cooperation, and I am sure in the coming years will reach new levels.”
“Today’s most important task of Russia is the 12 development programs for the next six years, defined by Vladimir Putin, which foresees technological advancement, a new quality of Russian cities, new infrastructure, the return of Russia to a group of five of the world’s largest economies…These are complex but feasible tasks.”
“We will support Belgrade in the most complex issues, including preserving the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia. We will support Serbia in seeking an acceptable compromise with Priština.”
