Celebrations were held across Europe on 9th May, the Day of Victory over Fascism and Europe Day, which mark the end of World War II in Europe and the start of the creation of the European Union. A formal reception was organised to mark the occasion at City Hall, hosted by Oscar Benedict, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia.
The reception was attended by Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić, Serbian Government ministers Ana Brnabić and Jadranka Joksimovic, as well as Belgrade Mayor Siniša Mali. Also present were former Ombudsman Saša Janković and representatives of political parties, the diplomatic corps, religious communities, civil society and the media.
Europe Day was formally celebrated in all major towns and cities in Serbia.
