This year’s German initiative for finding suppliers in the region of the Western Balkans was held outside Germany for the first time, this time – after previous appearances in Dortmund and Munich – taking place in Serbia. Representatives of 142 companies from the region discussed partnerships and opportunities for inclusion in supply chains with 24 German companies.
The gathering was organised by the German-Serbian Chamber of Commerce (AHK Serbia), in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Serbia and the German Association for Managing Materials and Logistics (BME eV). The event included around 400 individual B2B meetings.
“We are satisfied that this is about long-term and intensive cooperation,” said AHK Serbia President Ronald Seeliger.
Martin Knapp, Executive Director of AHK Serbia, said that this gathering represents a “win-win” situation for both sides, with German companies needing suppliers and Balkan manufacturers needing markets.
German Ambassador to Serbia, H.E. Axel Dittmann, said that everyone will benefit from the organising of this gathering, while this area will also be a theme of the July summit of the Western Balkans Six (WB6) in Trieste.
