The Festival of European Film has brought the best achievements of contemporary European film production to Serbia for the sixth consecutive year.
Maria Mondelou, Press Officer at the Embassy of Greece, and Paul-Henri Presset, Head of Information, Communication and Media at the EU Delegation to Serbia, addressed attendees on the opening of the festival in Belgrade, with the Greek drama “Silent” the first film to be screened this year.
Presset recalled that 2016 had seen the introduction of a change in the festival format, with films being screened at festival events in towns and cities throughout Serbia, and only then in Belgrade. “By breaking the Festival into four segments – spring, summer, autumn and winter – audiences in 11 towns in Serbia get a chance to enjoy the very best of European cinema,” said Presset.
The six-day festival includes the screenings of ten of the latest film creations of European cinematography from Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Greece, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia and Sweden.
