Fashion studio Click and the Hemofarm Foundation organised a fashion show at Belgrade’s Crowne Plaza Hotel, entitled “Extend life – Colour in red”, presenting the creations of more than 20 prominent local members of the BFW Design Collective, with well-known public figures appearing on the catwalk.
The magazine was dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of organ donation and transplantation, as well as heart disease prevention, which the Hemofarm Foundation has insisted on for many years.
“It’s harder to split prejudices than atoms, said Einstein. That’s why tonight we were in a kind of revolt against the prejudices and stereotypes linked to this topic,” said Sanda Savić, member of the Management Board of the Hemofarm Foundation.
Every hour six people die from cardiovascular diseases in Serbia and only 10 per cent of people on waiting lists receive a new organ, while Serbia has only three donors per million inhabitants.
The Directorate for Biomedicine and the Hemofarm Foundation enabled visitors to the Black‘n Easy Fashion Week to sign a donor card.
